ATD Fourth World

Wherever men and women are condemned to live in extreme poverty, human rights are violated. To come together to ensure that these rights be respected is our solemn duty.
 – Joseph Wresinski, founder of ATD Fourth World

The international movement that was born in France during the 50’s is present in many different countries around the world, which joins people that are against violence of misery and search for alternatives of peace and harmony with the world. Both direct activities of socio-educational, artistic and cultural character, and the joint of international organizations, governments and institutions, people living in extreme poverty are the protagonists.

In Latin America, the movement is present with fixed groups (teams)  in Bolivia, Brazil, Guatemala, Haiti, Mexico, and Peru; offering different opportunities of participation.

Apart from that, the movement incentivizes the Forum for a better world without misery and overcoming extreme poverty with correspondents in more than 150 countries and the network of friendship between children: Tapori.
