In 2009, she served on the advisory board for the National\u00a0Geographic book\u00a0Green Guide Families: The Complete Reference for\u00a0Eco-friendly Parents. In November 2013, after\u00a0seven years serving\u00a0on the volunteer-driven Green Team, she became Senior Manager of\u00a0Sustainability &#8211;\u00a0National Geographic\u2019s\u00a0first full-time sustainability\u00a0position.\u00a0Susan now leads the Green Team\u2019s Steering Committee in working\u00a0toward National Geographic\u2019s key sustainability goals: to make\u00a0National Geographic\u00a0carbon neutral, to strive for zero landfill waste,\u00a0to be good stewards of our resources, and to ensure that employees\u00a0are engaged and healthy. \u00a0Susan will be introducing to us Creative conservationist Asher Jay.\u00a0Asher is a designer, artist, writer, and activist who uses creative\u00a0concepts and design to advance animal rights, sustainable\u00a0development, and humanitarian causes. Her art, sculpture, design\u00a0installations, films, and advocacy advertising campaigns bring\u00a0attention to everything from oil spills and dolphin slaughters to\u00a0shrinking lion populations.\u00a0Much of her best known work spotlights the illegal ivory trade,\u00a0including a huge animated billboard in Times Square and an\u00a0ambitious project aimed at China\u2019s ivory-hungry rising middle class.\u00a0She participated in the Faberg\u00e9 Big Egg Hunt in New York, where her\u00a0oval oeuvre went on to raise money for anti-poaching efforts in\u00a0Kenya.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Susan Kolodziejczyk has been with the National Geographic\u00a0Society for over 14 years working as a researcher and project\u00a0manager.
