ROB BURROUGHS<\/span><\/h1>\n\n\n\n
\"rob_burrows_square\"<\/td>\nA dedicated GIN alumnus, Rob has remained committed to the organisation long after graduating from high school.For seven years, he has worked to engage young people in taking action to address local issues with global understanding. Since 2010, he has been the global youth ambassador of an NGO called Grassroot Soccer, which uses the power of football to fight HIV\/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa.In his final year at Mount Allison University, he was asked to chair the university\u2019s Environmental Issues Committee, during which time he became the top environmental advisor to the university\u2019s president. Following his post, he authored Mount Allison\u2019s first sustainability report.Rob is currently a master\u2019s candidate at the University of Ottawa\u2019s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

FABIAN ANDRES KOSS<\/span><\/h1>\n\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/td>\nFabian Andres Koss is a Senior Communications Specialist in the Office of External Relations of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). He was named the Youth Liaison immediately following the 1995 IDB-Israel Youth Forum, which was the first time that a Multi-Lateral Bank brought together young leaders from around the world to discuss youth development issues. Through the IDB Youth Program, the IDB supports outreach, advocacy and project development activities.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Fabian is one of the founders and coordinators of the Inter-American Working Group on Youth Development, a consortium of international donor agencies which seek to increase resource support and promote learning around effective youth development programs in the hemisphere. In 2000 the IDB Youth Program received the United Nations World Youth Award for its achievement in implementing the UN World Program of Action for Youth.<\/p>\n

In 1999, Fabian founded the Many Hats Institute (MHI). \u00a0\u00a0MHI is an international organization that is dedicated to improving the conditions for children worldwide. \u00a0It is supported by a network of renowned professionals from diverse backgrounds, who raise funds and provide assistance to promote community development and engage young leaders to become resources for their communities. \u00a0\u00a0Initiatives have included a Placido Domingo concert to raise funds for the victims of an earthquake in El Salvador. \u00a0MHI has teamed up with the World Wildlife Fund, Nature Conservancy, Harvard Business School, and AOL among others to leverage the time, talent and resources of the \u201cMany Hatters\u201d from around the world.<\/p>\n

JOHN D. LIU<\/span><\/h1>\n\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/td>\nJohn D. Liu is an American who has lived in China for more than 30 years. Mr Liu helped to open the CBS News bureau in Beijing at the time of normalization of relations between the U.S. and China. He worked for CBS News for 10 years leaving in 1990. He also worked as a photojournalist for Radiotelevisione Italiana (RAI Italian Television) and Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen (ZDF German Television).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Mr. Liu has concentrated on ecological film making since the mid-1990\u2019s, and has written, produced and directed films on Grasslands, Deserts, Wetlands, Oceans, Rivers, Urban Development, Atmosphere, Forests, Endangered Animals, and Poverty Reduction.\u00a0 His work has taken him to over 70 countries. \u00a0Many of his films have appeared on BBC World and other networks. In 2003, Mr. Liu wrote, produced and directed “Jane Goodall – China Diary” for National Geographic.\u00a0Since 1997, Mr. Liu has directed the Environmental Education Media Project (EEMP), which uses television to deliver ecological, sustainable development and public health messages in China and other countries. Mr. Liu was also the driving force in the creation and development of the China Environment and Sustainable Development Reference and Research Centre (CESDRRC), the China HIV\/AIDS Information Network (CHAIN), and the Environmental Education Media Project (Mongolia). For many years Mr. Liu has studied and worked to promote the potential of ecological restoration including presenting the recent films \u201cHope in a Changing Climate\u201d, \u201cRwanda \u2013 Forests of Hope\u201d and \u201cEmerging in a Changing Climate\u201d.From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Liu was a visiting fellow in the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Faculty of the Built Environment at the University of the West of England (UWE). In 2006, Mr. Liu was named the Rothamsted International Fellow for the Communication of Science. In 2008 Mr. Liu became a part-time PhD candidate in Research at Reading University. In 2009 – 2010, Mr. Liu was appointed Assistant Research Professor at George Mason University.\u00a0\u00a0 Currently Mr. Liu is a Senior Research Fellow, IUCN. In 2013 Mr. Liu became a Visiting Fellow at the Faculty of Earth and Life Sciences, VU\u00a0(Vrije University Amsterdam).www.eemp.org<\/a>

DAVID PORITZ<\/span><\/h1>\n\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/td>\nFor the past ten years David has worked to bring about improved practices and increased accountability in the oil and gas sector. He has extensive knowledge of oil industry practices gained while living with indigenous communities and through engaging NGOs and oil and gas companies throughout Latin America. As Equitable Origin\u2019s founder and Co-President, he is the custodian of its vision and chief advocate for its social purpose.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
David graduated Phi Beta Kappa and\u00a0magna cum laude\u00a0<\/em>from Brown University with a dual-degree in Anthropology and Latin American Studies. He is a 2007 Henry David Thoreau Scholar and a current member of the Henry David Thoreau Society for the Environment, a 2010 Henry S. Truman Scholar and a 2012 Rhodes Scholar.
