Applying for the GIN Student Admin Team

Prerequisites a GIN Student Global Admin Volunteer Team Member

– Must be a current middle or high-school student.

– Must be able to commit to the time requirements

– Must have taken part in at least one GIN training workshop or event, such as a conference, prior to applying for a GIN leadership position.

– Must be an active member of a GIN Project or Club or a community-centered and/or sustainable service-learning project that aligns or is working towards alignment with GIN Project Best Practices.

               – A GIN Project is any student-led, sustained, and ongoing project dedicated to tackling one or more local-global issues.

               – A GIN Club is a student-led team that supports the development of impact and advocates on behalf of their fellow GIN Project Teams.

 

GIN Student Global Admin Volunteer Team Advisor

– All GIN student Global Admin Team will be asked to seek out, approach, and partner with a local educator advisor

              – Must be an educator with whom you have a strong relationship and  values the ethos of GIN

              – Who is willing to support you as a Global Ambassador

              – Advisors/ Educator Mentors will responsible for supporting their GIN GA in the following ways:

                        – Support the GIN Global Ambassador Learning Forum

                        – A point of contact for GIN

                        – Called upon to support evaluation of GIN class participant work

Guardian Permission

Guardian: Please complete the Parent/Advisor Permission Form to give permission for your child to participate in the GIN Network.

By submitting this form, you accept general liability for the participation of your child in the extracurricular activity and club identified above and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Global Issues Network, its staff members, its sponsors, its governing board, and other participating agents, either jointly or severally, from and against any and all claims, costs, or causes of action that may arise in connection with this activity.

– Internet access (strong connection)

– Google Account

– Skype Account

– Slack Account*

– Photo/video camera for documentation (such as a phone/tablet)

– Video editing tools (e.g. iMovie)

*If your country does not allow the use of Slack, please communicate this and we will work to create systems and protocols for updating and reviewing Google Docs and emails.
