Writing Expectations

In the Global Ambassadors Program, you will be asked to reflect on and engage deeply with complex concepts, processes, and skills; most of your work will come in the form of written reflections.

Carefully review the table below to understand where to find instructions and how to submit your written responses in your GIN Workbooks.

THIS IS WHERE YOU WILL FIND ACTIVITY INSTRUCTIONS

  • Below each Activity title, you will find step-by-step instructions and checklists marked by checkboxes in spaces like the one to the left.
  • All activities will be systematically numbered as shown above, with:
    • the first number “0” represents the corresponding Workbook
    • the second number “2” represents the corresponding Workbook Chapter
    • the last number “1” represents the corresponding Activity Section
    • the letter “a” represents the corresponding Activity within the Activity Section

OR ANSWERS TO ACTIVITY PROMPTS OR QUESTIONS

Due to the great number of reflection questions often required in a single workbook, please note that we strongly emphasize quality over quantity of writing. Your responses should be thoughtful and reflect your own personal perspective. The goal of this program is to help YOU grow, so take ownership for your time by creating an experience that is genuinely useful to YOU.

THIS IS HOW WE WANT YOU TO SUBMIT YOUR ANSWERS

  • USE NOTE FORM MOST OF THE TIME
    • List your thinking in note form (bullet points)
    • Use action-oriented, direct and succinct language
    • Both you and the reader should be able to easily understand your thought process as you will use this to build upon in future Workbooks within the GIN Class learning process and the GAP Youth Directors will use this to evaluate the depth of your understanding.
  • USE ESSAY FORM SOME OF THE TIME
    • It will be clearly stated when you are expected to formulate and describe your thinking in essay form
    • e.g. You will be asked to describe the local-global issue, its leverage points for change, and the reasoning behind your solution in essay form.
  • We strongly recommend reviewing and proofreading your work at the end of each Workbook Chapter before you submit to ensure that your message and thinking are clear.
