Along with approximately 200 international student participants from across Africa and beyond, 17 deserving Kenyan students will also be honoured at AISA-GISS 2013 as Golden Heart scholars for their work in making a sustainable difference within their communities. The AISA-GISS steering committee will choose the 17 most promising Kenyan student leaders based on applications. Applicants will write essays in response to the question: “How I have made a difference within my community?”
ISK’s National Honour Society has already pledged to raise $250 to support one Golden Heart scholarship. Our Interact Club has also committed to sponsoring at least one Golden Heart scholar. Sponsorships include all meals, lodging, conference activities, fees and materials. There will also be an opportunity for pre-conference leadership training sessions that are specifically designed to meet the needs of these promising, young Kenyan leaders.
