This year’s conference – “Tackling Global Issues with Energy, Passion and Innovation”- will be held at the International School of Milan, from the 19th to the 21st of March 2015; check-in will take place between 4.15pm and 5.15pm on Thursday 19th at ISM. The event will be running from 5.30pm on that day with a couple of sessions followed by dinner at the ISM. It will continue throughout the whole of Friday at ISM, and will finish around 3.00pm on Saturday the 21st. Please make sure your travel arrangements allow you to be present from start to finish.
The title of this conference enables students to present on a wide range of global issues, and although the main focus of this event will be on Energy, it will also relate to the Milan EXPO 2015 (World Fair), which will explore the theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. We already have a number of thought-provoking speakers who have accepted our invitation; from the USA, Uganda, the UK and Italy!
All GIN participants are invited to sign onto the GIN online platform, www.global-issues-network.org. This site enables everyone to connect with like-minded people across the globe as it provides links to our GIN partners throughout the world. The website will also host information on keynote speakers, the conference programme, as well as information for registration, presentations, and how to book accommodation (as anticipated via email).
Please note that the deadline for registration is Thursday 11th December 2014, and that places are allocated on a first come, first served basis with a maximum of 10 participants (including teachers) per school. Please only invite your most motivated and engaged students to participate in order to make this event focused and worthwhile for all. Last year’s conference programme is still available on the website so that students who are new to GIN can find out more about the initiative and the way the conferences are run.
With kind regards and looking forward to another energetic, inspiring and productive conference!
