The Global Issues Network believes in taking action on global issues. In an effort to provide hands-on opportunities and to jump-start a spirit of taking action on some of the pressing global issues, students will have an option to do volunteer field work concurrently with the conference.
Some of the organizations placing volunteers during the GIN Conference are:

- The Rutland County Indoor Farmers’ Market
- Open Door Mission
- Downtown Rutland Partnership
- Northwestern Primary School
- Salvation Army
- Wonderfeet Museum
