Workshop Description
We will be discussing the acidification and pollution of the oceans, how these problems have occurred, and the far-reaching implications. Humans need to immediately figure out solutions and change habits in order to have a chance to reverse these issues. If we do not, we risk losing more species, rising water levels flooding cities, and the death of our oceans.

Workshop Description
The workshop involves a discussion of renewable energy resources and their potential influence on global climate change. It will begin with an overview of multiple renewable energy resources and their impact on society and nations across the globe. An action plan communicating how to incorporate renewable energy technologies into existing school buildings will be presented. This plan will integrate different types of renewable energy resources varying in degree and impact, and will redesign an energy plan within local high schools that has the potential to be applied and scaled to other context.

How does education differ between Seattle and rural Kenya, and what action can we take to promote the growth of student perspectives, equality and partnerships on a global scale?
Workshop Description
We will be discussing some of the many contributing factors that impact education quality in the United States vs. Kenya, as well as the resulting student standards, attitudes, and life goals. An organization called SeaVuria has helped many Seattle high schools to partner with schools in the Taita-Taveta region of Kenya, providing students with new ways of viewing education and partnerships on a global scale. Students from Ingraham High School would like to share the story of our work with SeaVuria, the action that we’ve taken by supporting a scholarship program called Equal Means, and ways in which your¬ schools can get involved.
